Transportation and Accommodations

Getting there

We flew into the main airport and then took a train from the airport to Brussels-Central which is located near the Grand Place. This was very easy and cheap.

Getting around

We walked everywhere. There isn’t a ton to do in the city and some of the things are quite spread out, but just depends what you want to see. We did not go see the Atomium, but we would’ve had to take public transportation if we chose to go there or to Mini-Europe

Food and Drink Recommendations

Maison Dandoy
Delirium

Very fun bar with over 2000 types of beer available for order

Make sure you go to the correct one (slightly done a little street). Go downstairs, that’s where the big menu is (note: if you want to actually look at the menu, I would recommend getting their early/late afternoon opposed to night. The bartenders are a bit nicer and will give you more time and you can easily look at a menu). The main floor has about 20 beers available and the upstairs seemed more like a hang out place. We loved the basement.

Also, the Delirium entrance at the corner seemed more like a vodka bar. You want to walk deeper into the alley/street to go to the correct entrance. Jeanneke Pis is across from the entrance

Eat/drink: Waffles, Chocolate, French Fries, Beer

Chocolate – Leonidas

Waffles

Maison Dandoy

Oyya (Brugge)

Chez Albert (if you like the Liege waffles – found in Bruge)

Beer

De Konick

Karmeliet triple

Floris chocolate

Floris mango

Floris Coco

We wanted the Cookie Beer (but they ran out)

Other Notes

Not a ton to do here besides eating/drinking. We got bored pretty quickly. We could’ve done more day trips but a lot of the small towns are similar (Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp). We went to Bruges and it was cute. Even though there isn’t a ton to do, some of the things are spread out (ie the Atomium and mini-Europe).

Liege waffles vs Brussels waffles:

Brussels: more traditional

Liege: looks like there is a sugar topping/glaze on it
